The hope in our testimony

Testimony is defined as (Merriam-Webster.com): Proof or evidence that something exists or is true; the tablets inscribed with the Mosaic law; the ark containing the tablets; a divine decree attested in the Scriptures; first hand authentication of a fact; an outward sign.

In Exodus, the NIV refers to the ‘Ark of the Covenant’ as the ‘Ark of the Testimony’. I had never really noticed that before. The Bible is actually testifying about Jesus. That’s why a testimony is so powerful. You are giving people hope of a better life and freedom from bondage. Just like the Bible is giving us hope that we can receive salvation because of God’s mercy and grace and also have the power to overcome the devil’s schemes.

God wants us to tell our testimony to others, not keep it to ourselves. It doesn’t even do us any good if we don’t share it. We must stop thinking inward and start seeing the bigger picture. When we start sharing our testimony, hope will spread like a wildfire and others will be delivered just because of our obedience. Revelation 12:11 “We are overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.”
