James 5:16 says, “Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
Does it ever feel like God doesn’t hear your prayers? I used to feel that way. You know, God intends for His people to keep praying until we get the breakthrough. I always thought that God must get really tired of hearing me keep on and on praying the same prayers every day, but that is actually what He expects us to.
The definition of fervent is ‘having or displaying a passionate intensity. (hot, burning, glowing)
From what James 5:16 says, God intends for us to pray with passionate intensity, like we are on fire. When your prayers mean something to you, then they mean something to God. When we intercede for those we love, and even those that we don’t like very much, we will have God’s ear. He hears our prayers.
Feeling alone is one of the worst feelings in the world. Even when you are in a crowd, you can still feel lonely. That’s how I felt when I was going through my depression. I kind-of got used to feeling like that. That’s the hard part of trying to get out of this mindset. When people would show any type of kindness, I would automatically put up a red-flag and question why they were being nice. I had to fight hard against that and it took me years to get past it. I finally had to accept that sometimes people really do care and don’t have any ulterior motives for their kindness.
If you feel lonely, it might be that God has set you apart from the rest of the world. Psalms 4:3 says, “But know that the Lord has set apart of Himself him who is Godly; The Lord will hear when I call to him.” Remember, that Christians will not fit in with the world and they will probably think we are strange. Also, remember that God will hear you when you call out to Him. He wants you whole. Let Him heal the wounds from your past.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
We often try to work things out ourselves. Instead of helping God, we are messing everything up. Then, in turn, God will have to fix that as well. If we just pray about something and trust God to answer our prayer, we won’t stand in the way of our blessings. We need to get out of the way and let God move on our behalf. He is able!
Remember the saying,’ If you don’t have anything good to say then don’t say anything’?
Proverbs 21:23 says, ‘if you keep your mouth shut, you will stay out of trouble’.
Sometimes we can lose hope in difficult situations. You can always tell if somebody has no sense of hope. It’s a sad, gloomy, dark place. Remember that the dark can’t comprehend the light. That’s why it’s so important that we speak positively- speak hope. Even if we don’t believe that it will change anything, wouldn’t it be better for things to go right instead of wrong? If all you are doing is murmuring and complaining, then how can things go right? You are setting an atmosphere of darkness and hopelessness. Why not try thinking and speaking of what is good in your life and stop dwelling on the bad? Believe me, we all have bad thing that happen in our lives but we can choose not to bring attention to the bad stuff. People around you don’t want to hear all the negativity anyway.
