As Christians, we are called to be different. We should not be acting like everybody else. We should stand out from the crowd. Others should know that we are not like them. They might not know why or how, but they should be able to see and feel that we are different. If we are not in the peace making business, then we should be asking ourselves why? Matthew 5:9 NKJV , “Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.”
David was different and everyone knew it. In 1 Samuel 17:37 NLT , David told Saul about God rescuing him from the bear and the lion, proving that he had a relationship with God. David killed a giant because of those experiences. David knew that his God would rescue him from any adivisary, even if it looked impossible. David stood out from the crowd and didn’t want to fit in with his brothers or the other soldiers.
God made us all unique. We all have different fingerprints and that means God wants us to be ‘one of a kind’.
We are all created in God’s image, but we all have different qualities and personalities that make us who we are. Instead of trying to be like somebody else, we should want to be the person God wants us to be.
We have a purpose on this earth or we wouldn’t be here. Are we fulfilling our purpose by what we are doing? Are we helping others or just trying to gain only for ourselves?
