There are so many people that are dealing with depression and nobody even knows about it. Sometimes the person that is dealing with depression doesn’t even know how far they have fallen until they realize that they can’t seem to get out of it. I have written a book titled, Depression: State of Mind. It is in the editing process now and should be released soon.
I let my dad read my book, and he had no idea that I have struggled with depression all my life. I’m a private person and I don’t like admitting that there is an area that I have a weakness in. Most people think I have it all together but that is not the case at all. I am a work in progress.
I have never felt better. Since I have researched and written this book, I finally understand that I am loved and I am here for a reason. I actually like my life now. That’s a really good feeling! God does not mean for us to aimlessly exist. I used to feel like a zombie – just fumbling around without a purpose. If you are breathing, you have a purpose. Get a vision for your life and pursue it.
In my research, I have found that you are what you dwell on and focus on. If you keep thinking about your problems and your failures, then all you will have is problems and failures. That’s why the Bible tells us to think on things above instead of on ourselves. ~Colossians 3:1 (NIV) [Rules for Holy Living], “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.”~
Think of your blessings instead of your problems and you will be happier. It’s a battle. You are battling for your mind. You are battling for your peace. You are battling for your joy. You are battling for your life. Don’t let the devil steal your life from you. Take it back- by force! ~Matthew 11:12 (KJV), “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence , and the violent take it by force.”~
